Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026
Fathom Digital LLC ("Fathom", "we", "us") builds, hosts and markets websites for small businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. It covers:
- fathom.digital and its subdomains, including the client portal at my.fathom.digital and website previews at name.fathom.digital;
- websites we build and host for client businesses ("Client Sites");
- Fathom Sites, our platform that runs those websites and manages Google Ads campaigns for our clients (the "Platform").
Information we collect
When you visit fathom.digital
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
When you visit a Client Site
- Contact forms. If you send a message through a Client Site's form, we collect what you enter (typically your name, email, phone number and message) and deliver it to that business.
- Phone taps. When you tap a phone number, we record that a tap happened, on which page and when. We do not record your phone number or the call.
-
How you arrived.
If you arrive from an ad, a search engine or another website, we set a first-party
cookie (
_fathom_src) that remembers the source: an ad click identifier (such as Google'sgclid), campaign tags, or the referring site. When you send a message, that source is stored with it so the business knows which of its advertising works. - Spam protection. Forms include hidden fields and timing checks to filter automated spam.
When you use the client portal
Portal accounts are by invitation only. We collect your name, email address and the business you are associated with, plus anything you submit through the portal (content edits, change requests, advertising details). Sign-in uses one-time links sent by email, and a session cookie keeps you signed in.
Information about businesses
To prepare website previews we gather information that a business has already published, such as the text, photos, contact details and hours on its existing website. A business can ask us to take its preview down at any time (see Contact below).
Google user data and the Google Ads API
The Platform connects to Google Ads through the Google Ads API so that we can run advertising for client businesses that have asked us to. It uses Google OAuth to access the Google Ads manager account belonging to Fathom Digital, and the client advertising accounts that sit under it.
- What we access: Google Ads account and campaign data in those accounts. This includes account settings, campaigns, budgets, ads, keywords, targeting, and performance figures such as cost, impressions, clicks and conversions.
- How we use it: only to create and manage advertising for our clients, pause campaigns when a client's ad credit runs out, and report spend and results to the business the account belongs to.
- How we store it: daily spend and performance figures are stored in the Platform's database. OAuth credentials are kept as encrypted secrets on our servers and are never shown to clients.
- Who we share it with: a client sees only its own account's results. We do not sell Google user data, use it for unrelated advertising, transfer it to data brokers, or use it to train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
- Revoking access: the Google account owner can revoke the Platform's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. We delete Google Ads data we hold when a client stops advertising with us and asks us to, or on request through the Contact details below.
Fathom's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements.
